Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Leader, Sunday Udeh Omoyele, has officially resigned from the party. He announced his departure, citing a significant deviation from the party’s foundational principles.
In a resignation letter directed to his Ward Chairman in Agbogugu Ward, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Udeh-Okoye expressed his difficult decision. He acknowledged the PDP for providing him a platform to serve in various capacities, including as a Member of the Enugu State House of Assembly and the National Youth Leader.
A Party Adrift From Its Core Ideals
Udeh-Okoye stated that his resignation stems from deep concern. He observed that the party has moved away from the unity, justice, and equity ideals championed by its founding fathers. He noted that the PDP has regrettably lost its moral compass and ideological direction over time.
He concluded that he could no longer, in good conscience, remain a member of a system that has abandoned its original purpose. The former youth leader stated that his resignation from the PDP marks the start of a new journey. He aims to focus on restoring democratic values, accountability, and genuine service to the people.
