Renew Your Vehicle Licence in Just Four Minutes

Cape Town residents can now renew vehicle licence in just four minutes without leaving their cars. The city’s new drive-through service at Bracken Hall facility in Brackenfell eliminates traditional queues and paperwork.

Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis personally tested the service, completing his vehicle licence renewal in three minutes and fifty-nine seconds. The facility opened in September 2025 and requires no prior appointment.

Four-Minute Vehicle Licence Service

Located at the corner of Reservoir and Kruispad roads in Brackenfell, the drive-through center represents a significant shift in municipal service delivery. Customers remain in their vehicles throughout the entire process of renewing their vehicle licence.

The cashless facility operates from Monday to Friday between 11:30 and 19:30. Saturday hours run from 11:00 to 14:30. The city is working with the Road Traffic Management Corporation to extend these operating hours.

Future Expansion Plans
