Katsina communities and bandit leaders have reached a significant peace agreement in the Funtua zone. This development was confirmed by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a social media post on Monday. The accord involves representatives from Bakori, Kafur, Malumfashi, Kankara, and Funtua Local Government Areas.
The crucial meeting occurred on October 12, 2025, at Kakumi Village in Bakori LGA. It was organized under the Operation Safe Corridor initiative. The primary goal was to foster dialogue and build understanding between the affected communities and the bandit groups.

The peace dialogue brought together a wide range of key figures. Community representatives included Alhaji Abdurrahman Kandarawa from Bakori and Abubakar Musa Barde from Kafur. Also present were Alhaji Bature Dan Kanjiba (Malumfashi), Alhaji Audu Goya (Funtua), and Alhaji Kasimu Dantsoho (Kankara).
Traditional rulers played a central role in the discussions. Attendees included Alhaji Ado Bello, the District Head of Bakori, and Tsiga Jarman Katsina.
