In a significant step to combat unemployment and environmental degradation, Love Howick NPC has introduced 150 learnership opportunities for unemployed residents of uMngeni. Announced on 27 October 2025, this initiative aims to build a resilient local green economy.

The “Green Learn to Earn” programme is a collaboration with the Duzi Umngeni Conservation Trust (DUCT) and the National Social Employment Fund (NSEF). It is structured around a unique Work, Study, and Startup model, directly supporting Love Howick’s core pillars of Poverty Alleviation, Environmental Stewardship, Economic Development, Education & Skills, and Community Unity.

Participants will receive practical, accredited training in high-demand areas of the green economy. The curriculum includes waste management, recycling, and upcycling.
