Spokesman SP. Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the arrests in an official statement. He detailed how the command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) moved swiftly to capture the suspects.

The operation took place on October 16, 2025, leading to the arrest of five individuals. The suspects are Aliyu Abbas, Sani Iliyasu, Ashiru Sule, Abubakar Yahaya, and Adamu Kalilu. These fake police officers were caught while actively parading themselves as legitimate law enforcement personnel.
