The City of Cape Town is urging motorists to renew their vehicle licence discs ahead of the anticipated year-end rush. Customer service centres traditionally see a significant surge in visitors during November and December as residents prepare for the festive season.

Councillor Siseko Mbandezi, the Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, emphasized the city’s goal to simplify the process. He stated that the City aims to make renewing your licence disc a convenient experience before the peak period begins.

To streamline services, the city has enhanced its digital booking system. Motorists can now secure an appointment online in under sixty seconds. This efficient system provides a reference number for priority service at any customer centre across the metro. The city also sends SMS reminders with a direct link to the booking platform, significantly cutting down queue times.
